Exterior angle of a triangle is equal to sum of interior opposite angles | Exterior angle property
Download Notes
This is a video on Exterior angle property of a triangle.
The theorem is: If a side of a triangle is produced, then the exterior angles so formed is equal to the sum of the two interior opposite angles.
We have to prove this above theorem. So for that first of all we have to consider one Triangle (say ∆ABC). Now side of a triangle is produced at side BC, so because of this we will get two angle at C.
We will get one equation from the angle sum property of a triangle, and finally we will get other equation from the linear pair forming at point C. Comparing both these equations, we will get the proof that exterior angle is the sum of the two interior opposite angles.
