Education Lessons comment section is a like a public community forum where we all interact with each other. Everyone is welcome to participate here regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, or anything else that makes up a person. Not only is everyone welcome, we want everyone to feel comfortable and feel safe.
To make that happen, we present these rules of conduct that we promise to enforce.
Think of it like writing a letter to the editor. All submitted comments will be read, but not all will be published. Published comments will be on-topic, helpful and further the discussion or debate.
If you see a comment thread that you feel isn’t in-line with this Code of Conduct, please let us know and we’ll deal with it. If you need a comment of your own to be edited or removed, likewise, get in touch. We will never reveal the email address or any personal details of a published comment other than the name you post it under.
In any interaction, any content or behaviour of the following kind is unacceptable:
This isn’t the complete list. It’s just so you understand the vibe here. Anything that makes you look as an unpleasant person would not be acceptable. The community we’re going for here is helpful, accepting, friendly, accommodating, and aware of the fact that the web and the world is a big place with room for all of us.
We do. Education Lessons Team. We realise there may be some subjectivity to these calls. We’re going to err on the side of keeping the Education Lessons community feeling safe and comfortable. We’re also going to err on the side of someone telling us they are offended or being made uncomfortable. But again, ultimately it’s our call.
Remember: you don’t get to decide how other people feel about your actions, they do.
Hopefully we’ll catch anything unacceptable (like a rude comment) and delete it before it’s ever published. If one slips through, contact us.
We understand that everyone makes mistakes, has bad days, and has learning to do when it comes to this stuff. We’re not going to ban anyone for one occurrence. Unless it’s especially egregious(our call). More likely we’ll just shut it down and let you know. We will ban you after repeated violations.
